What a way to kick off the New Year!
Packer cows and bulls were about steady with where we left off before the holidays, but the calf market is as good as we’ve ever seen it.
A few highlights from today’s sale:
• Numerous 6-weight steers brought over $4.00/lb, with the top end reaching $4.70/lb
• Not reflected on the market report — fancy cows making replacement heifers, with many weighing 450–550 lbs, were outstanding and brought over $5.00/lb
